LIFEGUARD

Responsibilities

●    Set up umbrellas, loungers, and other pool furniture. Ensure that the pool furniture and area
         are clean and safe.
●    Warn of unsafe activities and enforce water safety policies and pool regulations
●    Provide first aid in the event of injury, rescue swimmers in danger or distress and administer
        Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or artificial respiration, if necessary
●    Assess conditions for safety and come up with an action plan for aquatics emergency
●    Inspect pool equipment, facilities and water to make sure they are usable and safe
●    Open and close the pool each day, depending on schedule and hours
●    Identify potential threats to safety and watches over guests to ensure they are safe
●    Contact appropriate persons in case a situation escalates beyond their expertise
●    Enforce the facility’s rules
●    Maintain a level of physical competence to carry out the job
●    Inspect facility and immediately report any unsafe conditions or equipment to supervisor

Requirements and skills

● Lifeguard degree
● Certification in First aid, CPR, and AED principles and procedures.
● Knowledge of water rescue methods and techniques, swimming strokes and aquatic
techniques.
● Physically fit
● Competent swimmer
● At least 1 year working experience in a similar position, preferably in a 4* or 5* hotel
● Good knowledge and use of Greek and English both written and verbal (A second foreign
language will be considered an asset)
● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with guests and team
members.
● Customer-focused attitude with an approachable and friendly demeanor
● Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to perform well in a fast-paced
environment
● Professional appearance and demeanor, including a neat and well-groomed appearance and the
ability to maintain confidentiality
