Job tasks:
• Greeting customers in a friendly manner and taking coffee and snack orders
• Preparing and serving beverages such as hand brew coffee, espresso-based beverages, tea and other beverages
• Answering customers’ questions about menu and retail products
• Promoting and recommending menu options to customers
• Taking payment from customers
• Maintaining espresso machines, grinders, coffee machines and other equipment by cleaning, troubleshooting and scheduling repairs
• Keeping the coffee shop environment and seating area clean and organized
• Responding to and resolving customer concerns or complaints
• Suggest processes’ improvements for efficiency and quality of service.
• Attracting new customers
• If requested, assist with tracking inventory and ordering supplies for retail and consumables.
Skills:
• Positive teamwork ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced and high-volume environment
• Basic coffee knowledge, such as how to prepare common coffee beverages
• Excellent listening and communication skills to effectively interact with coworkers and customers
• Ability to work unsupervised and deliver quality work
• Attention to detail to manage specific customer requests, as well as a high-volume beverage preparation with minimal errors
• Time management and organizational skills to work efficiently
• Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills to interact in a positive manner and prevent or resolve conflicts and complaints
• Experience, such as knowledge on roasting and grinding processes, coffee bean sourcing and tasking notes differences, will be considered an advantage.
