GARDENER

Responsibilities

Reports to: Chief Engineer
Division: Maintenance
Hotel: Radisson Beach Resort, Larnaca

Responsibilities:
o Maintains and grow the garden to ensure it meets specific requirements and expectations.
o Performs basic maintenance such as cutting the grass, emptying bins, managing weed control and leaf raking.
o Plants and nurture new trees, flowers, and various plants.
o Works with hand tools and basic light machinery such as plant vehicles, and small diggers.
o Service all garden equipment and machinery.
o Maintains a clean garden by clearing rubbish and litter from the garden and grounds.
o Provides guidance to management on matters related to the garden.
o Advise management on the costs of plants and garden necessities with detailed written quotations and reports.
o Ensure a safe environment for staff and clients by adhering to safety and health regulations.

Requirements and skills

o Knowledge of horticulture methods and materials, landscaping and cultivation of trees and woody plants.
o Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to trade.
o Ability to perform grounds maintenance tasks.
o Skill in interpreting and completing landscape plans.
o Knowledge of fertilizer and/or pesticide applications.
o Ability to lift and manipulate heavy objects.
o Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures. Ability to handle a range of horticultural machinery and powered hand tools.
o In-depth knowledge of plants and gardening techniques.
o Friendly personality with excellent interpersonal skills.
o Solid understanding of health and safety rules and legislation.
o EU citizen / EU work permit holder.
