Responsibilities
● Greet and escort customers to their tables
● Present menu and provide detailed information when asked (e.g. about portions, ingredients or potential food allergies)
● Prepare tables by setting up linens, silverware and glasses
● Offer menu recommendations upon request
● Take accurate food and drinks orders, using a POS ordering software
● Communicate order details to the Kitchen Staff
● Serve food and drink orders
● Check dishes and kitchenware for cleanliness and presentation and report any problems
● Handle guest complaints and report them to supervisor
● Arrange table settings and maintain a tidy dining area
● Deliver checks and collect bill payments
● Carry dirty plates, glasses and silverware to kitchen for cleaning
● Use waiting equipment such as trays and trolleys.
● Follow all relevant health department regulations
● Provide excellent customer service to guests
Requirements and skills
● High school Diploma or above. Degree in Hospitality will be considered an asset
● At least 1 year working experience in a similar position, preferably in a 4* or 5* hotel
● Good knowledge and use of Greek and English both written and verbal (A second foreign language will be considered an asset)
● Knowledge of POS/PDA ordering software (HIT WebPos preferred)
● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with guests and team members.
● Customer-focused attitude with an approachable and friendly demeanor
● Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment
● Professional appearance and demeanor, including a neat and well-groomed appearance and the ability to maintain confidentiality
